Thanks to everybody who cam out! We raised $645 this time around and I think it was the most fun Strutters’ Ball yet. We’re off for the rest of the year, but we’ll be back in January on Tuesday night and beginning with the Mostly February session on January 31st, we’ll have both Tuesday AND Wednesday nights going – so check it out!

This will be our second dance to raise funds to help Twin Cities dancers realize their dreams of making it to Herrang Dance Camp in 2012. Last Strutters’ Ball we raised $700 and we are hoping we can do it again. Herrang is a month-long camp in Sweden and is truly the Mecca for Lindy Hoppers all over the world and we are making a big push this year to get a huge crew of Twin Cities dancers out next July for the camp.
Once again $5 from every admission going to helping Twin Cities dancers get to Herrang Dance Camp in 2012. We’ll also be having workshops during the day taught by Naomi Uyama and myself.

Workshop Information
12 noon – 1:10pm: Fine tuning Fundamentals (Beg. Plus/Int) – Start the day off right with some in depth work on your basics. Although this class will be appropriate for Beginner Plus dancers there will be something for every level to focus on and improve.
1:15 – 2:25pm: Charleston Challenge (Int) – Athletic and energetic, charleston is a great way to connect with your partner at faster tempos. We’ll be showing some fun lead and follow moves while getting better at that charleston rhythm.
2:30 – 3:40pm: Super Survival Skills (Int) – This class will focus on real life dancefloor concerns, such as a crowded floor, a tricky partner, and etiquette. Peter and Naomi will share their experience to help you stay safe and get more fun out of the the same situations.
3:45 – 4:55pm: Musicality (Int) – A mysterious dance word – a fun class topic. We wrap up the day bringing it back to one of the main reasons we dance- the music. We’ll work on moving to different styles and rhythms while opening our ears to what’s going on.
We’ll see you all on the 10th but for now, here are some shots of Strutters’ Balls past to hold you over until the 10th!
